It’s not your ordinary “meal”…

Chicken Parmesana. Breaded Shrimp. Paleo Meatballs. Crusted Salmon. Are we hungry yet? Paleo Pancakes. Salmon Cakes. Meatloaf. Pie Crust. How about now?

Interestingly enough, each one of these delectable, and not to mention “Paleo-friendly” items contain the same key ingredient. Who would of thought that a cup or so of Almond Meal could be the result of these delicious items. Haven’t heard of Almond Meal before?

Simply put, almond meal is raw, whole  skin-on, almonds grounded into a fine powder. The only thing different between this and a whole almond, is that its finely grated. Almonds already play an active role in our Paleo lifestyle because its contents are very beneficial to us.

Almonds are high in protein, magnesium, copper, potassium, and high in essential fatty acids. You can expect almond meal to share the same health benefits. Did I mention it was also gluten-free?

Its delicate and subtle attributes make this a solid base for most of your Paleo cooking needs. When you mix cage-free eggs, a wee bit of coconut milk, and some almond meal you have yourself a delicious batter for Paleo pancakes, or the beginnings of Chicken Parmesana. The possibilities are endless! Use this as you would regular flour.

Interested in buying some?

Almond meal can be purchased at any specialty grocery store i.e. Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Rainbow Grocery (San Francisco), or you can even by it in bulk online.

Being on Paleo, has allowed me to experiment w/ all types of oils and flours that I never knew existed. Its made cooking the Paleo Way a lot more exciting because of its versatility with many meals I put together. Also, it has given me an opportunity to eat things that I thought I would have had to have given up forever like Paleo Pancakes and Chicken Parmesana…just to name a few.

If you are going to start experimenting(if you haven’t already), I recommend making the Almond Meal a part of your cooking repertoire. If you’re gonna do Paleo. Do it right. Get some almond meal today!

How do you like them apples?

Cheers.
